Q: What are boulevard banners made of? How long do they last?

A: Boulevard banners for long term use are made of 10 oz. awning marine canvas (not vinyl). Banners for short term use (special events, festivals, exhibits of less than 3 years) are typically fabricated using 16, 18 or 21 oz vinyl. Don’t be fooled by weight. 10 oz canvas has 6 times the tear strength as 18 oz vinyl! Vinyl is considered a temporary use substrate (less than 3 years). Awning/boat canvas is UV resistant and will carry a 5 year fabric colorfast warrantee.
